Three datasets, one tool

EPA publishes pollution data in three separate tools that don't talk to each other. To get a complete picture of what's polluting near a property, you normally need to search each one by hand, reconcile facility names and identifiers, and stitch the results together. This page does all of that for you.

Superfund NPL — The National Priorities List of federally-managed contaminated sites. ~1,380 sites. The worst of the worst — properties serious enough to trigger federal cleanup authority under CERCLA.
Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) — Annual self-reported chemical releases from ~23,331 larger manufacturing, mining, and utility facilities. ~770 listed chemicals. A lower bound on industrial chemical pollution.
ECHO — EPA's enforcement database for ~285,063 facilities regulated under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, or RCRA hazardous waste rules. Shows inspection history, penalties, and significant-violator status.

What the search returns

Enter a U.S. address and we geocode it with OpenStreetMap's Nominatim. Then we query all three datasets for sources within a 25-mile bounding box and sort them by distance. You get an interactive map, a sortable table, and links to a detail page for every result. Detail pages include:

Superfund detail: cleanup status, contaminants, affected media (soil/groundwater/surface water), responsible parties, cleanup timeline, and EPA references.
Facility detail: compliance status, Clean Air/Water/RCRA breakdown, penalty history, inspection history, and TRI release history when the facility is also a TRI reporter.
