AMCCO completed all major remedy construction activities during the spring and summer of 2020. These included preparation activities such as demolition of select onsite buildings and structures followed by excavation of contaminated sediments in marine ways and upland soil hot spot removal for offsite landfill disposal.

Astoria Marine Construction Company is a federal Superfund site in Oregon. The Superfund program, created by Congress in 1980, addresses sites where hazardous substances have been released or threaten release into the environment. EPA scores potential sites using the Hazard Ranking System; those that score high enough are placed on the National Priorities List.
