In September 2020, the EPA issued an Interim Record of Decision for OU-1. EPA began completing Remedial Design (RD) activities for OU-1 year. March 2018, EPA's contractor installed additional groundwater wells and collected groundwater and surface water samples. On April 3, 2018, EPA's contractor began a groundwater dye tracer study.

Barite Hill Nevada Goldfields is a federal Superfund site in South Carolina. The Superfund program, created by Congress in 1980, addresses sites where hazardous substances have been released or threaten release into the environment.
